Site Diary: how it works
Why does a site diary matter commercially?
Because extension-of-time and loss-and-expense claims get decided on contemporaneous records. A diary written on the day, naming the weather, the labour on site and what held you up, is evidence. The same thing written from memory in six months is an argument you’ll probably lose. Delays sit in their own field so you can pull the whole set out at once.
Is the weather recorded automatically?
The entry carries a weather description and a temperature, plus the underlying weather data record. So the conditions on the 14th are pinned to the 14th, rather than looked up two years later from a public source that may not say the same thing any more.
Can the client see the site diary?
Only if you give them a portal login. The Client Portal module shows recent diary entries next to progress, photos and documents. Without it, the diary stays internal.

Which plan includes the site diary?
It’s included from Solo up. The weather, the workforce, the plant, the visitors and the delays all come with it.
Can I fill the diary in from site with no signal?
Yes. Estimark installs as a progressive web app and has an offline field mode, so the entry is written on the phone and sent when there is a signal. Native apps for iPhone and Android are on the way, and neither is on a store yet.
Can photos be attached to a diary entry?
Yes. A site photo can be linked to a diary entry, and to a defect, and to an RFI. One upload, three records.
