Quality Assurance: how it works
How do QA templates and checklists relate?
The template is the definition: the questions, their order, their category, and which ones can’t be skipped. A checklist is one filled-in copy of that template against one job. Each completed item still points back at the template item it came from, so you can compare results across jobs even after the template has moved on a couple of revisions.
Does this support ISO 9001?
It holds the records a 9001 system runs on: inspection criteria defined per trade, dated records against those criteria, photos and notes as evidence, and a named sign-off. Certification is an audit of how your business works. This is one part of that, not a shortcut past it.
How is QA different from defect management?
QA is the planned inspection against set criteria before anybody accepts the work. Defect management picks up whatever failed and sees it through: logged, photographed, given to someone, chased until it’s signed off. Most firms want both. The checklist finds it, the defect record closes it.

Can I build my own inspection checklists?
Yes. Templates belong to your company and carry a trade, ordered items, categories and a required flag per item. If what you want is a free-form sheet with conditional logic rather than an inspection checklist, that’s the Custom Forms bolt-on at £49 a month.
Can an inspection item carry a photo?
Yes. Every completed item holds a result, notes and an optional photo. When a fail turns into a defect or an argument, the photo is what you’ll want.
