£9/mo · included from CoreA correspondence log that stands up in a dispute
Contract disputes turn on who wrote what, and when. This is where you keep it. Every letter, email and notice goes against the job or the tender with a type, a date, a sender and recipient, a subject, a description, a direction, tags and attachments. Included from Core up.
What the Correspondence Log module does
- Attaches an entry to a job or to a tender, so pre-contract and post-contract correspondence are both covered.
- Records the direction outright, inbound or outbound, rather than leaving you to work it out from the names.
- Holds sender, recipient, subject, description and a correspondence type.
- Carries tags for retrieval, so a topic can be pulled out of a long project without reading it end to end.
- Stores attachments against the entry.
Correspondence Log: how it works
Why keep a formal correspondence log?
Under a standard construction contract, notices and instructions carry deadlines, and missing one costs money. A claim gets settled on what was sent, by whom, and when. An inbox won’t do the job. It isn’t shared, it isn’t tagged, and it knows nothing about the letter that went in the post.
How does it differ from RFIs and variations?
An RFI is a numbered question with a due date and an answer. A variation is a priced change with an approval. Correspondence is the rest of it: the notice, the letter, the position somebody minuted. No workflow of its own, but you’ll need to find it in eighteen months.

Questions
Correspondence Log: frequently asked
Which plan includes the correspondence log?
It’s included from Core up. On a lower plan it’s £9 a month on its own.
Can I log correspondence against a tender before it becomes a job?
Yes. An entry hangs off a job or a tender, so what was said before you won it sits in the same log as everything after.
Does Estimark pull correspondence in from my email automatically?
No. You create entries in Estimark and attach the files. There’s no mailbox sync.
